A MommaStrong Sleep Retreat

APRIL 26th - APRIL 29th 2018

When we feel like there isn’t enough time in the day for us to get everything done, when we wish for more time, we don’t actually need more time. We need more stillness.
— Christine Carter, sociologist

Look, it starts with sleep ...

I hit a rock bottom with sleep issues last year and I'm still working on this essential life skill now.  The main thing I have learned is that you basically can't work on anything else in your life until you are getting adequate sleep.

NOW.  HOLD UP.  YOU'RE A MOM.  HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO THIS?

This is what I find interesting.  We all know we need sleep, but no one is helping us moms get more sleep.  For me, when my kids were babes and tots, getting a solid 7-8 hours was impossible.  And now that they are older, it's still freakin' impossible because my workload has increased AND my kids still have nighttime stuff happening AND - let's be real - nighttime is when I want to rebel with bad tv and snacks until the wee hours.

SO, I've decided that instead of giving you the same ol' lame advice, I'm gonna work with you to create a solution that fits your real life.  How can I get rest and save my brain if my reality isn't one that supports that?

Voila.  Join me and a team of experts for three nights and two full days of sleep-related help.  Not only will you have THREE NIGHTS to become a rested human (which may be the entire reason you come), you will be learning real life, real deal ways to get sleep EVEN if it is seemingly impossible.

YOU WILL:

  • Have a room to yourself
  • Enjoy a nature-filled environment
  • Eat good food
  • Have oodles of time
  • Learn oodles about sleep and stillness
  • Sleep, swim, exercise, eat, laugh, repeat

Why?

Because this matters THE most.  And I know you are blaming yourself and your life when you can't prioritize it.  And I know you are waiting until your kids are old enough to reclaim your health.  But, the time is now.  Other cultures far less technologically advanced have figured it out, so can we.  And with all that women need to do in the world these days, we need to have all of our wits about us.  We simply deserve it and we desperately need better help in this area.

By helping us keep the world in perspective, sleep gives us a chance to refocus on the essence of who we are. And in that place of connection, it is easier for the fears and concerns of the world to drop away.

Montaigne: “To practice death is to practice freedom. A man who has learned how to die has unlearned how to be a slave.” Being a slave to our job and our status in the world makes it much harder to put our day behind us and surrender to sleep.
