Meet Stephanie Dillon, PT, DPT, OCS, WCS

Stephanie received her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from Washington University in St. Louis in 2007. She started her physical therapy career by first specializing in orthopedic disorders & musculoskeletal injuries, earning her board certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) in 2011. She then taught in the University of Chicago Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency Program for four years.

After needing to go through pelvic floor therapy herself as a patient, she developed an interest in women’s health problems and pelvic floor dysfunction. As a result she has been treating women with pelvic health problems since 2012, and eventually expanded her areas of expertise to include treatment of men and children with pelvic floor disorders. She then earned her board certification as a Women’s Health Clinical Specialist (WCS) in 2019, and now helps train other physical therapists to become certified in women’s/pelvic health physical therapy through the American Physical Therapy Association.

She enjoys using her background in orthopedics to help inform care for her patients with pelvic health problems, and vice versa. She is especially passionate about helping women during the pregnancy and postpartum period understand more about how this process affects not only their pelvic floor, but also the joints and muscles of the whole body.  Additionally, she has a special interest in the link between hip problems and pelvic floor disorders. She lives in Illinois with her husband and two children, and in her spare time enjoys reading, traveling, and hiking.
